Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant staring down LeBron after he scored a basket earlier this year.

Kevin Durant was born in Washington D.C. and was a basketball player from birth.  He loved the game as a little kid and he was a great athlete and was very tall even as a little kid.  Kevin now stands six foot nine and is one of the NBA's superstar and is a role model for many at the age of 24.  Just a few weeks ago after a devastating  storm in Oklahoma Kevin donated one million dollars to the city and convinced the OKC Thunder to also donate one million as well as NIKE to donate all of the profits from his new shoes.  This shows how great of a man he is and why he is such a role model.

Kevin stated his University career at the University of Texas for the year of 2006-2007.  He also won College player of the year at the end of 2007 season. He then entered the draft and was selected 2nd overall by the Seattle Supersonic's which later turned into the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Kevin Durant lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a playoff Eastern Conference Final Championship. They then lost to the Miami Heat in the 2012 NBA finals.  Kevin Durant has been a great player for the Thunder and he is continuing to grow at only the age of 24. The past few seasons the Thunder have been a serious playoff contender.

Just the past year at the 2012 Olympic summer games in London, England Kevin won a gold medal with team USA to add to his collection of trophies.  Kevin has also led the NBA in scoring three years in a row.  He is also a four time all-star and was named FIBA player of the year in 2010.  He was named rookie of the year in 2008 and everyone knew he was a all-star in the making.  Kevin is my role model as he is a great man as he is not selfish and he is a great man.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Miami Heat~NBA Finals 2013

Game 1 of this series will start off Thursday June 6, 2013 in the American Airlines Arena, Miami,Florida between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat.

                        Series
    4 -  3
Tony Parker banked in a 16-footer with 5.2 seconds left for the last of his 21 points and the San Antonio Spurs stunned the Miami Heat for a 92-88 comeback in the fourth quarter of game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night. Tim Duncan had 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks, and Manu Ginobili had 13 points for the Spurs, who are pursuing their fifth championship.
We are still in Miami and guess what? This was a game that the Heat just had to play well.Game 2 and let's get started.LeBron James scored 17 points and had 7 assists and 3 blocks. One of those blocks whose a huge one on Tiago Splitter. Here's a picture showing it.
Tiago Splitter going to dunk but LeBron gets in the way for a huge block.
Mario Chalmers also had a huge game scoring 19 points. Before the game LeBron said he will not take or try to shoot 25 or 30 shots because he thinks the more he does, the more it gets difficult for Miami to win. So he's been passing in this series a lot.In the end, Miami had a blowout win;103-84. And the series are tied at 1 a peace.
San Antonio plans on taking this win at home. So Game 3 gets started and LeBron James does not start off with a good start at all, missing so many shots. But it's Gary Neal who is on fire with 14 points in the 1st half and a memorable buzzer beater 3 pointer before the 1st half ended. So the 2nd half, LeBron starting to get some rythm scoring 15 points in total and 11 rebounds. But thats not enough as the San Antonio Spurs easily win game 3 of the series, 113-77. Don't forget, San Antonio Spurs Danny Green scored 27 points for them and he was the leading scorer of the night.
Game 4. LeBron says it was all his fault in Game 3 and said the Heat will try to play better in Game 4. So let's see how they respond. This time it's the big three of the Miami Heat who play really well(LeBron, Dwayne, and Chris B.) scoring 85 points combined for the Miami Heat who win 109-93 to tie up the series 2 a peace and respond in a good way after a embarrassing loss in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Last game of the series that will take place in San Antonio (Game 5).This time something happens to Manu Ginobili having his best played game all year. Manu scored 24 points and 10 assists in a surprise start to spark the San Antonio Spurs to a 114-104 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, pushing the Spurs one victory away from their fifth championship. Also Danny Green makes history. He scores 24 points and broke Ray Allen's finals record for three-pointers in a series with 25 breaking the previous record of 22.
Game 6 was a do or die for the Miami Heat as they were down 2-3 in the series. LeBron James shrugged off a poor start and then toke off his headband and he was on. He toke that headband off in the 4th quarter and he outscored the entire Spurs team scoring 16 points and shooting 70% on the floor. Like seriously, who needs a headband when your the greatest player in the NBA? LeBron ended up scoring 32 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, Ray Allen hit a three-pointer with 5.2 seconds to play to force overtime and the Miami Heat staved off elimination with a 103-100 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
And this it, game 7. You win or go home. LeBron James had 37 points and 12 rebounds and the Miami Heat repeated as champions with a 95-88 win over the San Antonio Spurs in game 7 of the NBA Finals. Dwayne Wade added 23 points and 10 rebounds and Shane Battier scored 18 points on 6-for-8 from three point shooting range for Miami. James made 5 of 10 3s adding to the scoreboard. San Antonio lost for the first time in five finals appearances.
