Stephen Curry

This is Stephen Curry taking Mario Chalmers to the basket this year versus the Miami Heat.

Stephen Curry is the point guard for the Golden State Warriors. He was born and grew up in the Akron, Ohio(this is the same city that LeBron James was born in)  He grew up playing and loving the game which then lead to a scholarship and the Division One school Davidson.  He played there from 2006-2009.  He lead the nation in scoring in 2008-2009 at Davidson scoring 28.6 Points per game.  This  then lead him to the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA entry draft.  After the draft Stephen was subsequently signed to a four year 12.7 million dollar rookie entry contract. That season he finished second in Rookie of the Year voting behind Sacramento Kings star Tyreke Evans.

In the 2010-2011 season Stephen started 74 of the 82 Warriors regular season games and had 18.6 points per game as well as 5.8 assist and 1.5 steals. He also set the Warriors single season free throw percentage at 93.4 percent.  In May of 2011 he had ankle surgery to repair a torn ligament. This happened while he was preparing for his first season under head coach Mark Jackson. The Warriors in the 2011-2012 abbreviated season went a disappointing 23-43 and missed the playoffs they finished 9th in the Western conference.

The current 2012-2013 season Stephen Curry had a career year averaging 22.9 points per game and  6.9 rebounds per game as well as 1.7 steals per game. Curry lead the Warriors to a sixth seed in the Western conference with a 47-35 record. They then played the Denver Nuggets and won the series. In game two Stephen had  30 points and 13 assists leading them later to a second round birth against the San Antonio Spurs.   The Warriors lost in six games but Stephen had a career year and he said he will continue to push to get the Warriors back in the playoffs.

We love Stephen Curry so we hope you enjoy this video.
